Access control
Access control systems are based on three core components—
identification, authentication, and authorization.
Businesses accumulate vast amounts of data, these systems are created to manage who can access specific areas, data, or systems within a company, typically using methods like keycards, passwords, or biometric scans, to ensure only authorized individuals can gain entry and access sensitive information. Following the principle of "least privilege" where users are only granted the minimum access needed for their job function; essentially, it's a security measure to prevent unauthorized access to company assets.
